The Indian Wars of the 20. Century are not fought on the battlefield, not with Gatling guns or by Bluecoats on horseback. The battlefields of the 20. century are lawyer's offices, court-rooms, and government chambers; the Gatling guns have given way to court decisions, retroactive legislation, and carefully crafted propaganda; and the Bluecoats on horseback have been replaced by lawyers, bureaucrats, and public-relations consultants. The results of those changes, however, are just as devastating and deadly to the Aboriginal Peoples of North America. In a series of postings we want to introduce you to one of these Indian Wars that is being fought today in Canada. It has it's roots in the last century and we will follow this war up until today. It is an analysis of and a testament to the struggle of a group of Aboriginal people that has raised the awareness about Native struggle far beyond the borders of Canada. It is also a record of the crushing, humiliating, destructive, deceitful and crooked manner by which politicians, governments, and their hirelings have distinguished themselves in this war and an analysis of their tactics and strategies used to wipe out the Lubicon Indians in Northern Alberta. ************************************************************************ For more information contact web:car by e-mail or in writing Aboriginal Rights Support Group Committee Against Racism P.O.
